The 2-Wire system provides a very cost effective way of quickly installing a fire alarm system. All the devices can sit on the same radial zone, and with brands such as Fike, the detectors can have built in sounders, and EOL detection and settings for heat or smoke is set by DIL switches.

It is estimated that savings of up to 40% can be gained from using a 2-Wire system.
